The sides have 1" thick foam to soften the edges. Springs are covered in fabric to prevent any squeaking from foam rubbing on metal springs. Every seam is double stitched and uses India tape which is a moisture barrier, making the seams virtually indestructible. India tape also creates a bed bug barrier when used with vinyl.
